ABOUT AMERICAN UNIVERSITY WOMEN'S RUGBY

Our team was founded by Kathy Hinchcliffe in Spring 1996. Even though she stood as the only one on the team with rugby experience, Kathy was able to create AUWRFC.

Now after almost 30 years, AUWRFC is a club sport sponsored by American University’s Department of Athletics and Recreation. As part of the USA Rugby Football Union, AUWRFC is a D2 member of the Mid-Atlantic Rugby Conference (MARC) under National Collegiate Rugby.
